Driving for camera is not about speed or spectacle. It’s about control, consistency, and understanding how a moving vehicle becomes part of a composed frame.
I work closely with directors, DOPs and vehicle teams to deliver driving that is smooth, predictable and repeatable, allowing the camera team to focus on the shot rather than managing the car. Whether the brief is calm luxury, dynamic performance, or controlled technical movement, my role is to make the vehicle look effortless on screen.

Driving to camera
I specialise in driving precisely to camera, understanding how small inputs translate visually on screen.
This includes:
• Holding exact speeds over long distances
• Maintaining consistent gaps to tracking vehicles
• Subtle throttle and steering inputs to avoid unwanted pitch, roll or body movement
• Repeating the same line and timing across multiple takes
• Adjusting pace and positioning in real time based on camera cues
I understand how lens choice, camera height and movement affect how the car reads on screen, and I adapt my driving accordingly. The goal is always the same: clean, usable footage with minimal resets.
⸻
Jousting, tracking and close-proximity work
I have extensive experience with jousting and close-proximity driving, where accuracy and trust are critical.
This includes:
• Parallel driving at fixed distances
• Side-by-side tracking for hero shots
• Front and rear lead work
• Close-quarters positioning for beauty passes
• Maintaining stable framing during acceleration, braking and transitions
I work calmly and methodically, prioritising clear communication and predictable movement so that camera operators, riggers and tracking drivers can work confidently around the vehicle.
⸻
Technical awareness on set
Beyond driving skill, I bring a strong understanding of how automotive shoots operate as a system.
I am comfortable working with:
• Tracking vehicles and camera cars
• Crane and arm setups
• Drone coordination and timing
• Static beauty shots and controlled pull-aways
• Repositioning efficiently to protect time on set
I understand marks, cues, resets and continuity, and I know when a take is usable without needing to be told. This helps keep productions running smoothly and on schedule.
⸻
What production teams can expect
• Calm, professional presence on set
• Clear communication and easy collaboration
• Consistent performance across long shooting days
• Adaptability to changing briefs and conditions
• No drama, no surprises, just dependable results
My focus is simple: to deliver exactly what the director sees in their head, take after take.
